My husband & I used to be AARP members for yrs. We stopped renewing our membership b/c of the unending junk mail & get this, we were BOTH receiving the same thing! We thought we could stop this by not renewing our membership------wrong!

I use to get stuff all the time and now rarely. Maybe they stop or slow down at a certain age or they gave up on me ever joining.

You can get almost all of the discounts they advertise without being a member if you are a senior....

I always take such ads, along with credit card offers, put the part with my name & address in their postage paid envelope and write in big block letters,"please remove from your mailing list". It works but may take two tries.

Thanks kathypet, I will try that with my aarp junk mail too. Now if only someone can make all the pre pay funeral plan people to stop mailing me..........

I called the number listed in their mailings and asked to be taken off the list. They told me it might take a couple of months, but removed my name. I dislike getting all that junk mail, so was glad to see it stop.

I love magazines, but won't give them as gifts, because of the endless mail they send trying to get you to renew. I don't want to subject anyone else to that.

Yeah, I get those, too, which is really a big waste of paper/postage since I'm going to donate my physical remains to science for research.
