I have observed the Apple support site, and most who had problems with the update are those that skipped updating to Mountain Lion first, and jumped right from previous platform to Mavericks. Since you went from Lion to Mavericks, maybe that had something to do with your difficulties?

I was using ML but had to revert to Lion because it's what I had on disc.

I will go to one of their Geniuses and have her/him help me {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I'll let you know how it went hennypenny.

I don't know if the geniuses will be of any help until you have Mavericks installed. Given the install takes awhile, not sure a Genius Bar appointment will solve. They are only scheduled for 15 minutes. Have you tried reinstalling again? Some on the support site say that solved the problem for them. Also, there was an update to mavericks recently, and that update provided some fixes that some were experiencing. Personally, I try a reinstall, then make sure you also have the updated version, and see of you have the same problems. Then if you have same problems take Mac to genius with mavericks installed.

What version of iPhoto are you using? Open iPhoto, then click about to see the version. There was an update to iPhoto just after mavericks came out. I wonder of this update would solve the mixed up pictures? I did a quick scan on the Apple support site, and don't see any postings about iPhoto and mixed up pictures.

Re: Anyone here upgraded to OS X Mavericks?

I installed the first week it was available and it went smooth as can be. I was really impressed at the improvement in speed and smoothness of processing after the upgrade. It was like I had a new laptop!
