I've never heard of it either. It sounds better than the one than Pokemon Go!

@KentuckyWoman I wish I had heard of this 3 months ago. What a great way to get kids and families to work on a fun painting project and get outside, away from the devices for an hour or two. I see from an earlier post that Disney had to ban this from their park, but I see this as a less intensive, more kid-friendly version of geocaching. I'm keeping this in mind for a summer activity next year.

This is the latest craze for this area of southern WV. Businesses in town have gotten involved, hidden their painted rocks within city limits, that when returned to them are worth discounts or small gifts. It seems to be fun for families with children.

It's been great fun around here. No problems locally. Kids and their parents were out looking for rocks. They were painting and hiding rocks, they were outdoors, getting exercise, and everyone seemed to enjoy it!

I'm all for anything that involves children doing creative things and using their imagination/creative talents especially as a family . . . thanks for posting this @esmerelda!

The rock game is what I began to do w/DH's shoes (he refuses to put them in his closet). It amuses me...

This was HUGE in my neck of the woods last summer.
Haven't seen much of it this year at all.
I think it was great idea.
Some of the rocks were done so beautifully. Lots of talented artists around.

My grandsons' and one of my granddaughters were grand masters at this game. I was always finding rocks in my beds, the sofa, under the washer, in the toilet. And in their pockets. Even a few in the lettuce bin. Dont even talk about the rocks I own that once belonged to our national parks, and City playgrounds!!!
