I personally don't mind them, However, my father-in-law, who was a fire chief, said they are a nuisance to the fire trucks, and can cause turning difficulties when there is an emergency.

Yes, I have and I don't like them.  I'm alway a little nervous when I come to one. DH thinks it's funny and he laughs at me.  I am not a person who loves driving and some people who are older can get confused fairly easy.  You really have to watch out for them.  Not to mention they should probably watch out for me, too!

We have a lot of them in MA, actually throughout all of NE.  They aren't a new concept, they are an old concept.  I must be missing something because I don't understand what the fuss is about.
