Anyone familiar with terms used when singing with a music group?

Im new on the singing team. Leader has played professionally for 20plus years I don't want to sound totally stupid. So when we are practicing and he says "let's kick it out here" does that mean ???? Repeat? Thanks

I'm not sure but I think it means lets make it our best performance.

I am familiar with the term, but used in play rehersals once in a while. I n a rehersal it means, "let's go for it, let's do it without mistakes and so good people will weep"! LOL! It is a weak interpretation, but basically that is what I take it to mean. It is one of those things, the more you think about it, the more you might question the meaning.

Kind of like, Let's kick it out of the park. But I may be wrong when it refers to music

'Kick it out of the park'? Giggle....how about ""HIT it out of the park (ala baseball)""

No he's telling us to do something specific. More like after this verse we""ll kick it out.

It means you will sing the refrain louder and with enthusiasm. I sing in professional groups and that is a term used to jazz things up. Follow what the other singers do.

Kick it out there also means probably singing more enthusiastically-- ala Glee performers?

When I was in chorus, many eons ago, the teacher said, sing from the bottom of your toes-- get that voice out there!
