I heard one local civilian in the search area say that the cops in their cars are 'on the lookout' but they are not getting out of their cars and putting boots on the ground to actually go looking for the suspect. Easy money.

wrong. no cops are sitting there in their cars. they have cars stationed every 500 or less feet apart around the longwood area that they are searching. they also have tactical forces stationed inside the wooded area. rest assured they are doing every single thing possible. they have even brought in ground radar today to see if he could possibly be hiding in any of the underground tunnels in longwood.

I presume everyone is stationed along the perimeter at night just like they are during the day. Does anyone know if the perimeter is lit up at night?

I am just baffled how he can stay hidden for 9 days. I know he is small and the brush is thick. Who knows if he is still in the vicinity and has had help. I wonder how much longer the hunt will go on before he is captured. The prison guard was fired.
My husband was talking to an agent that is working 12 hour shifts trying to find the convict.
He was saying that he probably is able to cover himself with manure, compost or fertilizer. The dogs are not able to track him since he has a strong scent, that is no longer his. He is using a whole different set of tactics..
@drizzellla I am surprised a law enforcement officer would divulge details regarding an active, ongoing investigation/search.
What type of "agent" was it?

@drizzellla , what an interesting detail-- that covering himself in manure aspect is fascinating. A tactic that worked in one of the most daring escapes of all from Auschwitz-- in that case, the two men covered themselves with a specific type of, I think, Russian tobacco, soaked in gasoline, when they were buried underground trying to elude the camp's sniffer dogs. It did work, as the dogs missed the human scent.

I think what he talked about was not any new big trade secret. Probably talked about in prisons frequently. The way he escaped from prison was the same route someone successfully was able to escape from the same prison a few months ago.
There was another individual in the group from the same organization. So there was a common bond. It really doesn't matter what type of agent he was. Several different organizations are working on catching the escapee.

Obviously this guy has been out smarting law enforcement and their methods...traveling at night and lying low during the day. Who are the best trackers on the planet? Native Americans from Apache reservations in Arizona or New Mexico. Try them and see what happens and give a humongous reward.
Also, why isn't more emphasis put on his size which is about that of a male 5th grader, 5 feet 120 pounds. It might help..

i heard on youtube by a crediable source that cops are going door to door asking people to access their outside camreas? if they are so sure they have him in their "perimeter" why are they going to houses outside of it asking?? just seems odd to me... like now they're not sure... long drawn out process this is...................

I see that JLR's stream isn't live this morning. Did LE abandon their perimeter since Cavalcante was seen in Phoenixville, 25 miles north of the prison?
