No, it doesn't bother me at all.

Nope. I say this word and much worse, all the time. *shrug*

Re: Anyone else uncomfortable with this term?

I think there's a time and a place for that word and it's definitely not in advertising.

I have young grandchildren and wouldn't use that word around them and wouldn't want to hear them say it.

It only has one meaning to them and that's okay.

There's a commercial that screams 'Oh My G-d' and I don't think that's appropriate. I only text 'OMGosh'.

Odd, but I hate that word too, even though my favorite frustration word rhymes with it. I never ever use the word that starts with "s."

You hate the word suc*k but your favorite frustration word rhymes with it?

My first introduction to that work was not secksual.

I agree. Secks doesn't even come to mind when I think of the word, it never did.

Hyacinth has a point about the secksual aspect of the word. You need only check out the Urban dictionary's related words and definition #8 to see she's not the only one who feels that connotation.

Interestingly they feel that age 30 is the generational divide for how it is viewed, but I doubt we have many posters 30 or under in this discussion so it's probably more than age that determines how one views it.

A little O/T, but another word that the Urban Dictionary has fun with is crapton. As in, I did a crapton of homework last night. Warning...if you are easily offended, you may wish to forgo looking it up!

It's a crude word (to me), but I guess it isn't considered to be obscene, because I just heard it used in an "Everybody loves Raymond" rerun.

I'm way over the age of 30, and I am not bothered by the word.

The "C" word on the other hand, I don't like.

Re: Anyone else uncomfortable with this term?

Hi Plaid Pants...that was my point, which I think you agree with. Since there aren't really any under 30s here, or very few, it doesn't seem to be a matter of age that determines how one feels about the word.
