Re: Anyone else not able to access proboards?

I find it amusing how often there are hit and run membership registrations at the PB site.  Sign up, read whatever, delete membership.  Wash, rinse, repeat.

Re: Anyone else not able to access proboards?

It would be hard to fault the level at which a handful of individuals took the bull by the horns and created a viable alternative to boards that, ostensibly, were closing. It would also be hard to imagine anyone not being sincerely and deeply appreciative of their efforts in doing so and in their continued efforts to hone the site. That, however, shouldn't mean there's then no room for the occasional dialog, involving feedback, both positive and negative.

Concerns alluded to here could be more about the overall curt and occasionally parental (wait until your father gets home) tenor of communications, and the somewhat 'absolute' nature of certain statements than about any single or specific action taken. After all, that forum is not the stepchild of any corporate entity that must be appeased. It could be that many expected a more collegial approach, which might also have netted more positive reactions and fewer criticisms, not to mention, more foot traffic.

It seems most of us are happy those boards exist but that doesn't mean there's not room for improvement and not all improvements need be of a technical or organizational nature. Sometimes it's just a matter of tone.

Some of the Posters who went to the Pro Boards expected things to be different because they knew the Posters who became Moderators, and they expected them to be different from the Moderators here. Low and behold they realize that the Moderators are in charge and not their friends and that's the way it should be but it would have been great if no one knew who the moderatos are.  I think that was a big mistake.

What are you talking about specifically?

Speaking for myself, @Sage04, I only remember posting with two of the QPB mods 🤷🏼‍♀️ prior to the new boards.

@tansyI've  always enjoyed reading your Posts  and you seem like a level headed person, what trouble can you get into?

Thanks, @Sage04.  😜 I enjoy your posts, too.

I stay away due to a very unkind and unprofessional moderator over there. Not sure how she maneuvered to get that role, but she should not be there.

It is unnecessary to bring this into this topic. All it does is stir the pot.

Well, when you are basically a decent person who writes short and sweet comments, and you get chewed out by a prima donna, you tend to remember. She intimidates other mods too. Proboards is lucky if fifteen people are posting at any given time. Of 1200 members, the majority have less than 25 posts and many stopped posting a month ago. I post simply because I appreciate the efforts of the person who tried to give QVC posters an alternative.

Re: Anyone else not able to access proboards?

I'm reluctant to say much about the other site, there's really not much use in doing so.  Everyone should find thier happy place.  I will say that this thread probably wouldn't have lasted near this long over there and that speaks for me.

@Marp  I wonder why that's happening?  They don't have to use their QVC names and no one would know who they are.

Someone mentioned here earlier that people are changing their name and that's not right because no one knows who they are.

By the way @Marp  I'm not there but my neighbor is there and here  and from what I've read, you should be a moderator. You know more than they do.
