The reality TV star, who is in his early 60s, had complained of double vision and had been 'asking weird questions in his sleep', Mrs Dotson told TMZ.

After he collapsed at the family home, Dotson's wife performed CPR while a 911 dispatcher gave her instructions over the phone.

Doctors discovered the auctioneer had one aneurysm behind his eye, and a second one, the size of an apricot, in his neck.

On Tuesday the star had emergency surgery and is said to making good progress.

On Thursday night his wife gave fans of their TV show an update, tweeting that he had 'made it through a difficult surgery. Now on the road to recovery'.

I'm moving out of the ICU & into the regular hospital this afternoon, should be home in a few days. They say I'm a miracle so with that, I'm selling all of this slightly used late model equip that I will no longer need to the highest bidder... in three minutes. I am joking about the auction but I'm not joking about giving a sincere thank you to all of our family, friends and fans that sent out positive thoughts and prayers for a full recovery. It worked and a few more days & I'm out of here. Thx. TeamDotson

I will not watch the show because I cannot bear the thought of people haggling over other people's property and memories.

Brandy gives as good as she gets. It's how they communicate, it's not meant seriously.

I think Brandi and Jarrod really do love each other - he always makes her laugh with his comments and I think that he enjoys that she can give as good as she gets. They seem like a happy couple to me (although I would make him get rid of that beard - I wonder if it is real?)
