I didn't get where it was supposed to be, but I hadn't heard of any area around here getting rain ..... a flash flood would almost be a welcome change!!

In S. Ca. today miles and miles of areas got rain and some got flash floods too.

I am dreading my electric bill. While I am at work I keep the AC set at 80, while at home I lower it to 79. It's miserably hot.
I heard on the radio coming home from work that we are due for a cool down towards the end of the week. (Please blessed Jesus)

It cools off in the evening with mild breezes, so it's bearable now. There's been severe rain showers a few hours away -- hoping the rain comes to this area - Ventura County. Can't remember the last time it rained.

kivah, Having trouble breathing is one sign they have warned about as a sign of trouble.
Do you have someone with you? Someone you can call? How about a doctor or hospital you deal with where you could call for advice?
Thinking of you....

Shoekitty, which Mc Connels did you contact to have the ice cream shipped? Was it the state street store or the one on Mission and De La Vina? My eldest son is begging me to send him some. What flavors did you get?
When the family goes for ice cream I only get a tester spoonful as I am diabetic.
tomorrow we have a paving company coming to seal coat our drive way and patch some root places. I wouldn't be surprised if the company cancels. We will be trapped in the house.

I was in San Diego in late July for my 50th HS reunion. The humidity was a killer, it was higher than the temp. I don't ever remember it like that in all the years I lived there. Next time I visit it will not be in the summer months. I can honestly say, I was miserable for 4 days straight.

I live in rancho Cucamonga and we did have a little mini-thunderstorm. Rained maybe 5 or 10 minutes. I'm glad for every drop we get.

In summer, I always put an ice cube in each water dish for the fur babies ...... sometimes a couple times a day. They run to the water dish to poke at the ice cube and invariably drink while they're there.

I ordered from the online store, I believe it is the downtown SB store. It is mcconnells.com. Expensive for shipping, and I think they ship within California. It is a 6 pint minimum. It was a wonderful experience. I ordered my favorite, toasted coconut almond chip, eureka lemon and marionberry, and coconut cream! I live in No Cal and selected 2 day shipping. It came frozen rock hard, no kidding. I have a second order coming tomorrow because I ordered 2 summer flavors (with 50% discount) summer15. I ordered 3 strawberry rhubarb, and 3 summer cobbler. It is so hot, I am so worried about it melting though. Oh well, they feel confident it won't and they will replace if it does!
Whole foods sells mcconnells ice cream, but it is 40 miles away. Every darn time I f=go in there, they are OUT, of my flavor though.
It is wonderful to be able to get something you really love as a treat. No one make the flavor I adore. Their ice cream is so good. Quality as well!

I am stuck in the house tomorrow so I will go on line and order up some ice cream for my son. He loves their coffee. and see what else he would like. He also loves their pumpkin and peppermint, but I think it is too early in the season for them. He is living up at Tahoe. Was the shipping ghastly. I had thought about buying it at the store and shipping it myself in dry ice. It might be worth the cost to let them worry about the packing.
It is still disgustingly hot here. The air is just still. Not even a waft of cool off the ocean.
