Of course! I never pass up the opportunity to celebrate! It is such fun to join in other's traditions. It is what makes this country great.
mr mchenny has been wearing a pitt pirates shirt with a big shamrock on it for two days now.
I have several of the Irish sweaters from the Q. I have a sweater coat, a pullover, and my latest fav is an empire style sweater. (wish the sleeves were longer though)----Years ago I bought a handmade sweater that had a woman's name on the tag. It was VERY expensive but is like new and is spectacular. I don't think they carry her sweaters anymore.

Anyway, it has three (I think) small (tiny, actually) shamrocks on the upper front, near the neck. It's really a great well-made sweater. Think I'll pull it out of my cedar trunk.
Does anyone else remember this sweater from about ten years ago? It's ivory with the green shamrocks.
Don't remember that particular sweater, but I own several that I have purchased on the Q on St. Paddy's Day. They are all Merino wool..... One I have has a hood on it, and it is great if out and about on a day like today here......windy and cold. That and a turtleneck are a great combination. Plus the sweaters (cardigans) I also one a sweater vest.......wear that quite a bit when sitting around......
By the way, the TSV for tomorrow is a very pretty cardigan.....think it is called "tree of life".....there are 2 trees on the back. Very pretty. When my sister was in Ireland, she said she priced the Merino wool sweaters over there, and the are much more expensive over there than they are over here.

Thank you ... I did pick out black pants, green top and jewelry and an orange watch. DH is German and thinks I nuts. LOL He doesn't understand the fun and history of this. Must be a German thing. JK

It's spring break at the college so it's jeans week for personnel who are scheduled to show up. I'll be wearing a lovely green jacket, blue jeans, comfy shoes and a Connemara ring. I'm Scots-Irish, descend from Loch Lomond area in Scotland - MacGregors then MacLachlands. We borrowed beautiful Londonderry, N.Ireland land, before moving on to America. Yes, I'll be wearing the green tomorrow. So will my County Antrim, happy Irish husband. We told our grandson to make sure and wear a green shirt tomorrow because he's 1/2 Irish. He asked what the other half was and we said, German. He said... I've heard of them....

I always forget when the day comes. I get by with my green eyes so I don't get pinched.

That is the half of my own ancestry that I have worked for decades to forget. No green on me but for the Irish! Enjoy the day.
