I found it by accident and enjoyed it very much. It was about a time I didnt know as much about (I learned more about Soviet/American tensions of the Cold War).

I just love all the actora and Romola Garai, as usual, was excellent as the nurse Millie.

The children are portrayed as self-indulgent, petulant, sots. Especially Randolph, the son-not a chip off the old block, although Churchill enjoyed his whiskey as well.

Thank you op for the reminder!  I have it set to tape last night & forgot about till I read the thread.  So I'll watch this evening.

Hi Noel7!

Just check your TV's settings...They may not be adjusted right?  Hope this helps?

Hi @Bellabutterfly

You were so right!  I couldn't believe they filmed it that way on purpose.  As I said, it's a new TV.  Finally DH strolled in and said maybe it's the settings for contrast and background, and he started fiddling with them and it was so much better!

Thanks Smiley Happy

I always have to adjust my TV for the darker Masterpiece shows. I'm glad now I know. The filming is beautiful but the scenes are often VERY dark.

I've noticed that, too @Bhvbum

They'll probably replay it, I'd be surprised if they didn't.

@maestra  I agree with your assessment.  Loved Romola Garai as Millie.
