Re: Anyone Watch the Bachelor Tonight?

I read an overview of the show online -- they called Juan Pablo a man child. It's that creepy baby voice he uses. I have this thing about grown men and women using baby voices.

I'm still trying to figure out why none of the 'girls' have questioned his heavy accent though he's been residing here for decades.

Re: Anyone Watch the Bachelor Tonight?

I believe he came to the USA when he was a child........attended school not knowing a word of English. He is speaking rather well, IMO. Lots of people have accents, even if they have been here for 90+ years. Just thinking out loud...........{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Ro, JP is in his thirties, there's no way he would have that accent 'naturally' after all that time. I guess he needs it as a crutch though he's not fooling anyone.

I rarely watch, but I did last night. Yeah, they did "it" and then he told her she will make him look bad to his daughter when she sees it. Talk about double standards. He can barely speak English so if he doesn't remember Spanish, what language does he speak? He pretends to be a gentleman but he's a phony slimeball and he's not the sharpest crayon in the box either.

Hahahaha...well said! This guy is turning out to be the worst Bachelor ever! He's got playboy written all over him. I wonder what the ratings are like?

It seriously amazes me that these bimbos fall for him. He's so fake and WAY too smooth. I can't believe Clare slept with him. If I were there and found out, I'd be gone. This show is just getting too ridiculous and gross to me.

Re: Anyone Watch the Bachelor Tonight?

Gee, I know quite a few people who have lived and worked here for many, many years (some in their 90's) and they still have/had accents. Just my observations......

Re: Anyone Watch the Bachelor Tonight?

I didn't watch the Bachelor tonight, or any night. Got bored with that show after a couple seasons. It baffles me why it is still on air... after so many proven fake and failed relationships. Do people really need to watch the courting of one guy with dozens of girls who will do anything to be on tv? Gross. Worse is this Bachelor they chose, what a douche. If I was one of the girls I would have faked food poisoning and bailed on the first night. The whole thing is stupid. JMO of course. Smile

Re: Anyone Watch the Bachelor Tonight?

According to "TV by the Numbers", The Bachelor ratings are improving and won its Monday night time slot. This was the best since the premiere rating... and the premiere with Juan Pablo drew the 3rd highest ever audience in the show's history. Go figure...

The Bachelor (8-10pm – 8.2 million and 2.6/7 in AD18-49): Gaining for the 2nd week in Adults 18-49 (+4%), The Bachelor earned a best-since-premiere rating – since 1/6/14. In addition, The Bachelor was up over its year-ago telecast (7.9 million and 2.4/6 on 2/4/13) in Total Viewers (+4%) and Adults 18-49 (+8%).

My good friend came from Columbia, South America 40 years ago and still has a heavy accent. There is nothing unusual about that, many keep an accent.
