Anyone Use Family Tree Maker Software?

My mother and I are thinking of purchasing Family Tree Maker software to do genealogy research. There seem to be different packages of it...regular, deluxe, etc. I see that you get some extra books with the deluxe and some free months on ancestry.com. Other than that, is the software the same?

Also, does anyone know if you can buy the "world" version of the software in the U.S.? Thanks everyone!!
