Anyone Remember the Post on the 3 Soldiers who Defected in MA?

One received asylum in Canada. He is there now with relatives. He came up with the idea to make it to the Canadian border and seek asylum.

The other 2 are having hearings soon.

They say if they are forced to go back to Afghanistan, they will be targeted for death for working with us.

None of the 3 were threats...

I remember when that happened, but haven't heard an update until now. While I'm happy that none turned out to be a threat, I don't condemn anyone who was overly cautious when it first happened.

The other 2 are in Batavia at our border patrol jail.

I was thinking about them last night since I was in Batavia yesterday.

I recall. I don't know why one would sign up know what risks are involved and then back out of what you contracted for with the military.

Maybe they joined before the rules of engagement were changed by O.

speaking of defecting....whatever became of the Bo Bergdahl decision? I don't remember ever hearing what the Army decided to do about him.

Their homes and families were threatened.

Remember how we were going to go there - create model democracies and everyone was going to love us?

It didn't work out that way and native people who sided with us are now in a tough situation - like the Vietnamese who helped us.

the white house is keeping mum on the issue......you won't see the president along with his parents having another news conference discussing what has been going on......
