@fthunt   You would think so right?   Only one of them is my "second" home. peep.gif

@Jordan2   You have my condolences regarding your mother.

I am looking forward to the holidays.  I'll be staying at a casino for a few days starting tomorrow.  My brother will meet me there.

Doing the same for Christmas except this time paramour will join me.  My baby brother will come down for a room service Christmas breakfast spread.  At that time we exchange gifts.  Afterwards we all go swimming.

EDIT:  Bro just called to let me know he was able to get a hotel room the same dates I have.  He will be bringing to breakfast his floozy of the week. Told him she is not invited to X-mas breakfast unless YOU BOTH wear a mask at all times except when eating.

"flloozy of the week"  Ha!  Loved your post Mz iMac, and sounds like a fun time for sure!

I am so sorry for your loss. It's a shame when some siblings don't reach out until you feel like your an after thought. I have no advice on how to make your day better, just know these boards are here and have kept me company on many a lonely day. You are in my prayers. 🙏❤️

Re: Anyone Not Looking Forward To The Holiday Season

@Jordan2  I am so sorry for your loss, and mourning such a loss takes however long it takes. I am impressed that you bought yourself a turkey breast and sides, and have honored yourself with what sounds like a lovely meal on Thanksgiving. And what insight and strength in dealing with your sister! Please understand that you are NOT alone, that there are millions in the same boat and it will call upon a courage we may not know we have to face the world today. But you sound rock solid. Please enjoy your lovely meal, and start planning all the ways you are going to enjoy the rest of your life. God Bless!

Re: Anyone Not Looking Forward To The Holiday Season

@Jordan2  Holidays are a challenge for many, especially when comparing then to now... I know my holidays are nothing like they used to be and l do miss the more joyful times that used to be... My thinking is regardless of why your sister invited you, she did invite you, and if you don't want to be on your own, then take her up on her invitation and see how it goes. If it's not pleasant, then you'll know better going forward.

Re: Anyone Not Looking Forward To The Holiday Season

I am sorry for your loss...my parents are also gone..20+years and my mom died at 64, way to young.

Holidays have never been the same, there's just something about having your parents around.  My family is not close but I am married so not totally alone.  But to be honest it's not a lot of fun, just the two of us.  His daughter will bring a friend and I will cook on Thursday but truth be told, I'd like to wake up to Jan. 2021 tomorrow.

If you like dogs, get one, so next year you won't feel alone.  They make a world of difference.
