Re: Anyone Not Looking Forward To The Holiday Season

I'm very sorry for the loss of your mother, @Jordan2, and the heartache this time of year brings.

I'm not looking forward to the holiday season either. Don't even think I will decorate.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. I will catch up with my watchlist and will checkout the boards.

I too hate the holidays now but for a different reason. I was diagnosed almost 5 years ago with incurable cancer & was given 1 to 2 years. But I'm still here. Every holiday I wonder if it will be my last as I look around at my family. This year is harder with covid & not being together. Will this be my last Thanksgiving? I don't worry so much about myself but for my family. It's hard on them too. But this is part of life. I have WONDEFUL memories of past holidays going back to when I was a kid and my family will too when I'm gone. I write this not for pity, no one wants that, but to let you know that there are others who understand you. Please take some time Thursday & remember the good times even if they do bring on the tears. I know I have some doozies that make me laugh until I cry. Now THOSE are the good tears. Good luck to you.

NO!   Too many people are sick, hungry, and out of work.

@suzykee You just blessed a lot of people!  And I know the blessings will come back to you, maybe when you least expect them.  God bless!

@homedecor1   Resorts was the first casino on the boardwalk.  It ain't going nowhere.  I think it's the only original casino in A.C.

Harrah's (my 2nd home) was the 1st casino on the marina.  It's the only original there.  I remember when "you know who" docked his yacht there?  I got pictures. Smiley LOL

@Jordan2

I have been there. You have to find what works for you. I did not want to be around others either. I made up my mind one year to take time to watch movies we used to watch or make meals that were special. There wer a lot of tears the first time I did this and yet it did help me still feel connected. Now I look forward to that special time. Hollidays are still tough  but it seems to lessen the ache.

I will be around on the boards if you decide to post.
