Re: Anyone Have Tips for Packing ""Care Packages"" for College Student?

Next week I will start my ritual of sending cookies/brownies every other week!

Like the others, I use Hefty or Glad containers and wrap the cookies in wax paper.

One thing I discovered: I have to use priority mail to get them to my DS in less than a week. I used to use my own boxes and send them priority. Now I use THEIR boxes. You can pack them as full as you want and they can weigh any amount and you will still pay the same price. I went from spending about $30 or so to about $17! He has a Keurig there, so I would pack his favorite cups in the empty spaces. Smile

Re: Anyone Have Tips for Packing ""Care Packages"" for College Student?

I sent several care packages over the past couple of years to GS #1. Now, GD #2 is in college and I will start sending her some also.

I've sent many things. Trail mix, Starbucks individual packets of coffee, hot chocolate and tea. Yes, it is cheaper to send a gift card or a check, but it is s much more fun to open a package and see what is inside. I've included candies, small boxes of Goldfish (she liked them as a kid) I send little gifts in the box and once I sent this Lee Sands angel. The little angel is very pretty and seems to glow at various times. It is only a couple of inches tall.
