"We're pregnant".   I know it's really a statement, not a saying,  but it just sounds so silly.

When did the term "we're expecting" go out of style?

@J Town Girl  In addition, it's wrong.  Only ONE of them is pregnant.  "We're expecting" was accurate.

@jeanlakeYes, I've noticed this pronunciation with the "t" sound more n more lately.  I thought to myself, do I pronounce kitten like that?  Watched a few commercials where the t is spoken oddly like that.  Hard to xplain, I just know it sounds a little off to me.

I wonder if its a regional thing.  I noticed people from Long Island, NY pronounce "Lon Gisland".  Some people say jewelery (3 syllables), I say jewelry (2 syllables).  Sorry, I'm getting off topic here.  Me bad.  Cat Surprised

@jellyBEAN : The stereotype is that we Long Islanders pronounce it “Lawn-guy-land.” Many people do, but l don’t! 😆

@giraffe77

Is that how this goofiness got started?  I've not heard it elsewhere, but it is often mentioned on the boards.

I agree, it needs to stop.

@Witchy Woman

Poor Judge Ito had to hear it 1000 times too from Johnny Cockran, Shappiro, and Marsha Clark.  It's legal-eze for "now that you heard that, let me tell you my side of the story."

Re: Anyone Else Tired Of These Sayings

          I am so tired of hearing "as well"!!  Every weather person uses it at least three times in one sentence.  And now, the news people and shopping channel people have adopted the words...yikes!!
