I really want to talk to someone about some stuff that is happening to me. I don't want to waste my time writing down a whole story if no one is here that is a vegetarian that could answer some questions for me. TIA!

Yep! But before you detail, I would HIGHLY recommend going to the website drmcdougall.com and search for an answer there. You can even email Dr. McDougall, who is an internist, and an answer will follow. They have an active forum, like this, that will be better suited to answer any vegetarian/vegan questions. Good luck, Irish!

One more note....click on "Education" on the green bar & you can get lost reading/listening to the Success Stories & Video Success Stories. Hopefully w/ the videos, someone can verbally express their answer to you, as well. Inspiring ![]()

Quit eating meat/fish and fowl in the mid 1970's and I fall into the lacto-ovo vegetarian catergory. Since you asked no questions?

I am presently trying to stop eating dairy products. (I buy almond milk instead of dairy...but I'm having a hard time leaving cheese behind. I don't buy it at the store, but it calls my name when I'm at work, since I work at a restaurant.
) It's easier to leave meat behind than it is to leave cheese behind, IMO.
ETA: I'm actually most concerned about cutting out chemicals and GMO foods. Food allergies and autoimmune disease are more common than they've ever been, and I don't think that's a coincidence.
When I was in elementary school, it was rare for a kid to have a food allergy. It is not rare anymore. (Take it from someone who works in a restaurant.)
I believe our bodies may not recognize genetically-modified food sources as legitimate food items...thus the steep rise in allergies and autoimmune diseases.

I don't eat meat, but don't call myself a vegetarian. When we eat out and I order soup, I don't ask if it was made with chicken or beef broth, but I don't pieces of meat in it.
