Last week I acquired my father's male Pomeranian. My dad just couldn't keep up with 2 dogs.
Rusty has been through a lot. Moved from another state to an animal shelter here, adopted by my dad, and now, brought to my house with 6 kitties. There have been no real incidents with the kitties.
We have been taking him out many times a day. My daughter takes him out pretty late at night. So he's not going too many hours without going out. He does nocturnal.....business... in the house. We have cleaned up many areas every morning. He does not do it when we are around. He cannot sleep in my bedroom because I have 2 nervous cats in there. That's why they are there!
So, for some hours he must sleep in the rest of the house. He seems pretty happy otherwise, but I know he has to be stressed in some way. We are willing to be patient, but I can't have him keep lifting his leg all over the place at night. He doesn't seem to want to poop when we take him outside. He likes the house!
Any other ideas besides crating him at night?
