Charlaine Harris, Sookie Stackhouse series. I am on #6 and there are several more and still coming in the future. New Orleans, Vampires, Werewolves ect...

Sookie is kind of like Stephanie Plum in the J. Evanovich series.

I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes. I have not read it, but it comes very highly recommended by members of a book blog I visit. Check it out to see if it sounds like something you'd like. I have SO many books right now on my to-read and want-to-read lists, I don't when I will be getting around to reading it.

Patricia Cornwell's "Dr. Kay Scarpetta" novels are really good, but they do involve muder and mystery. I've read all of them and am currently reading "The Bone Bed."

Ian Rankin's Inspector Rebus series are a collection of darker, grimier, police procedurals set in Edinburgh, Scotland. Rebus is a complex (and not too happy) figure and these expose the criminal underbelly of Edinburgh (A city I love) so these aren't "feel good" jovial stories.

Like others mentioned, they should be read in order.

I really like The Cinderella Murder, a new book by Mary Higgins Clark. I also really enjoy mysteries by J A Jance. My cousin recently recommended the Monkeewrench mystery series by P J Tracy, but I haven't read them yet.

I have just finished the Hamish Macbeth series by MC Beaton. She also does an Agatha Raisin series. These are both cozy mysteries and I love them!

I love anything written by Lisa Gardner...her detective " D.D.Warren' series is fantastic. Begin with book 1 "Alone" (there are 7 in this series). She also has "Profiler" series, equally exciting. Profiler series begin with The Perfect Husband, 6 in this series. My 35 year old daughter read all. I like to listen to "Books" on my kindle when I go to sleep.Needless to say not much sleep as these books are so intriguing you won't sleep. Also like "Kay Scarpetta" series by Patricia Cornwell, but started to listen to her books that she wrote in the year 2000, as I like books that deal with current technologies. hope this helps anyone who wants a good read, "listen'. oh, and anything written by "Tess Gerrinstein"

I've posted my rave review for THE GIRL WITH A CLOCK FOR A HEART by PETER SWANSON; a debut thriller that is being made into a movie this month. I loved this book! I am a third way through of THE GIRL ON A TRAIN by PAULA HAWKINS. OMG...what a fabulous start so far! It took me about 60 pages into it to start the heart pumping, so making plans to read this one straight through tonight, it's that good..
