Yes tansy, Brett, bless her, could always be heard coughing when the camera was on someone else. She did quit smoking and lived many years after the show was over. Brett, Richard Dawson and Charles Nelson Riley were the three regulars on that show. Dickey Dawson used to be downright mean to her. I watch that show every morning with either my neighbor or a granddaughter or both. I have it automatically DVR'd. (I'm pathetic.)

I remember them all. When I was sick from school I would watch. I think CNRiley might be the first gay man on tv that I knew of. I thought he was hilarious.

He was on every show in the 60's 70's. Charlie's Angels, Mc Millian and wife, Coloumbo, Hardy Boys etc......

So can you believe that Betty White was on Match Game 74 (and she wasn't a young thing then), she's still on television.

I mostly remember her on Password with her husband hosting.

That was Alan Ludden, Betty's husband.

Oh Nancy, I am going to watch that this weekend, thank you. I loved that show and I thought Hope Lange was gorgeous.

era~ I just googled to see what years that originally ran, 1968-1970, I was only 8-10 yrs old. I would love to watch the whole series again! Good wholesome shows we had back then, I really miss that.

This show called Blockbusters comes on after Match Game every morning now. Bill Cullen is the host. Never even heard of the game when it originally aired. Started watching it.

I read this story (wiki?) about the host Bill, who had a myriad of illnesses including polio.

Mel Brooks was on a show with Bill Cullen who was crippled by the polio and walked with a pronounced limp. Because the TV cameras had always hidden the fact that Bill limped, Mel thought he was faking it and started walking towards Bill Cullen.

Mel threw his legs out and wobbled over to Bill as Bill walked on his wobbly legs towards Mel.

And Bill said to Mel something like "I'm so glad someone finally makes light of my ailment instead of being so serious about it."

I'm sure you could hear a pin drop.

I was 7 and still remembered it. I look up all my old favorite shows on youtube. Some of the things they post are so nostalgic. Disney's Wonderful World of Disney that used to be on every Sunday night has been a favorite. Some holds up and some doesn't.
