Any Suggestions? Dog not Sleeping Through Night

Dh and I rescued a dog at the end of October. We aren't sure of her exact age but she is about a year and a half. She is a boxer mix but to me looks more Boston Terrier. She's adorable. LOL

We have always allowed our dogs to sleep in the bedroom with us on the bed. It has never, ever been an issue. When Sally first came to us, she slept through the night without issue. Then she started to get up in the middle of the night to go outside and then she would come in and play for awhile. I would lie on the couch and eventually she would tire herself out and go back to sleep.

Now it is getting more and more frequent with her being up half the night and it's rare she sleeps through the night. I'm not sure what to do with her. I've kept her up later playing with her and that doesn't work. It doesn't seem to matter whether she gets walked or not.

Last night she got up at 1:15, went outside and did her business and then proceeded to run around the backyard at full speed and I couldn't get her to come back in the house. I finally got her in and she started playing with her toys. That went on for at least an hour while I sat in the reclining chair. I ended up dozing off and she finally got on the couch and went to sleep.

I hate to put her in the cage at night to sleep because she is in a cage during the day. I leave for work about 7:45 so she's cage from then until I come home for lunch around 12:30. Then she goes back in her cage about 1:30 until 3:30 when DH gets home. I'm thinking I may have no alternative though.

Sorry this is so long. Anyhow have any suggestions?
