I sell on EBay and Etsy and am slowly dipping my toe into Poshmark. I am confused about a few things, though. I immediately got a ton of followers and get a lot of invites to "parties". Not sure what that is all about, so, I went into notifications and turned off a lot of that stuff.

I purchased an item and have now gotten a message from Poshmark telling me I need to verify "who I am" by verifying my payment method. What???? They say I need to use the app in order to make this verification. I try to downoad the app and it says my device(phone) is not compatible. I am beyond confused and ready to throw in the towel on this problem!

I am somewhat surprised because I had heard that Poshmark is fairly user friendly - kind of like EBay.

parties and stuff don't worry about it

you do need to add a credit card to buy something

and you should be able to do so on the webpage or the app

I would reach out to C/S  about that before doing anything else.   what phone do you have?

new poshers can fall prey to scammers, not saying that is what is happening

@Sapphiregal I have never sold on Poshmark but have on Ebay and purchased on Etsy. The only thing I can attest to is I did not like shopping on Poshmark at all. It was confusing and shipping was high and I was unable to see if I could get combined shipping from the same seller. Then, after viewing several items I was bombarded by emails. I closed my account and never ordered.

Well, I have my picture on my store, so, I don't think that is what they are wanting. If the sale does not follow through, I will be taking down my listings and deleting my account. No selling and no buying!

@Sapphiregal   I'm a seller on Poshmark and have sold over 900 items.   Followers is part of the process, but you don't have to do anything about followers.  They can share your listings and you can share theirs.  MInimal effort and it keeps yours (and their) items at the top.  As for the parties, I just turn it off and ignore those, I'm not buying live on line, and I'm certainly not going to go live online and sell my items.

If you made a first purchase, they just want to verity that you are who you claim to be.  You can do everything online, you don't have to use their app, but their app does make it easy.

It's user friendly to me once I figured it out.  I've financed several trips to Europe and other things by selling off my excess, which is really to downsize for a future move.

Reach out if you have any questions, I've been active on Poshmark for just over 2 years.

@Sapphiregal

Same thing happened to me after a purchase, contacted CS several times, didn't really get a satisfying/complete explanation, so no more Posh purchases for me.

I have been selling & purchasing from Poshmark for a few years and really like it.  I use to sell on Ebay but found Poshmark much easier as they email you the shipping label.  I find shipping is much cheaper their as well as $7.97 seems to be the highest except is the item is over 5 lbs then it is more.  There are a few options to pick for the shipping price and choose you or the buyer pay.  I rarely use the app as I like using my laptop when listing.    You need to have a cc on file for purchases and as for verify they want to make sure it is you for protection. If you have any issues, their cs is really good and helpful.

I just find it very confusing. I went into my notifications and turned off invites to parties. I still get a ton of them. I then checked to be sure notification shows it off and it does.
Then I wanted to see progress on the purchase I made and when I click on my purchases, there is nothing there. I contacted help and support - said they would respond within 24 hours. Is there any way to actually speak to a live person?
