In the market for a new one..sooner rather then later so I need in stock...
I have found a nice LG at Lowes..anybody have any pros/cons..and I have always had top loading but this is front.
Not sure if I could get used to that idea lol.
Another thing is some of the bad reviews I read at Sears does seem to be, what one guy said and that was User Error.., with the computerized and sensor etc. People didn't seem to be reading their manual about load unbalance etc.
Decisions..and this always happens, when an appliance breaks down I end up in desperate need so I can't order etc..I need it.
I want large capacity 4 cu ft or above..and of course Energy Efficient.

I just bought the top of the line LG top loader duo, I love them. I did not want a front loader and need to worry or do any extra maintenance to avoid mold. LG has a tutorial video to show how the washer and dryer works and showcases the new options like the dryer's steam settings. The duo is very impressive.

I've had my LG front loading for maybe 3 1/2 years now. No problems whatsoever. Although I do mostly leave the door to the washer open after washing but since they are in their own laundry room that isn't entered otherwise unless one is actually doing laundry, that is not a problem. Although I did hate paying the extra bucks for the pedestals . . . I'd hate IF they were that much lower without them, so I paid it.
I did have husband paint the laundry room a nice yellow and the shelving in there a bright white since the machines are RED.
I wanted the very pretty colors in the Electrolux . . . Mediterranean Teal or something like that . . . I couldn't come to grips with their almost 1K per machine extra premium price tags to boot . . . 4K or so PLUS pedestals was something I couldn't justify just for the color. But they were pretty nice looking machines!

My aunt got a Whirlpool Cabrio large capacity top loader.
I love the lack of a middle agitator...you can put in large quilts very easily.
Plus the spin cycle is so efficient it takes about 1/3 the time to dry items in the dryer - another big energy saver.
I am getting one myself when my current machine bites the dust!

Seems I saw the other day Whirlpool is bringing some of their production back to OH or maybe it was IN. That is a good thing. Not sure IF it was laundry, kitchen or what but might want to support them. ![]()

Look for a 10 year warranty............which LG has.........any machine with a 10 year warranty has a direct drive motor.........best way to think of a direct drive motor is a bicycle chain, back wheel and peddle.......very simple engine, with few moving parts.....fewer moving parts means less breakage......all machines with a 10 year warranty have a direct drive motor......and that motor comes from LG, no matter what brand machine it's in........................................raven

Yep, the 10 year warranty sold me. That and the high price of the Electrolux which I couldn't justify. Love the LG. But then I love my Samsung kitchen appliances too. A few hours research and comparing is well worth it.

We got the maytag XL stainless tub top loader with glass lid a few months ago. I love it. It doesn't have the agitator. Clothes coming out very clean. The model is the Bravos XL. We had the whirlpool before we bought this. I liked it but it didn't last very long. I hear this is better in some ways (?). I like that it is made in the USA.

We have a Kennmore Elite front loader. It is the first front loader I have ever used. It took a while to get use to it but I love it.
