I was looking for a format other than EBay to sell off a few things. I know there is Etsy, but, it is for handmade and vintage only.

I'd heard of Mercari and decided to give it a try. Their site just doesn't seem very user friendly, in my opinion. I tried to upload photos and just finally gave up because they wouldn't upload.

There are no forums to chat with other sellers, so just thought I would ask here to get opinions from others.

Have you tried Poshmark? I prefer it over Mercari. Much more user friendly.

Re: Any Mercari Sellers?

[ Edited ]

@Sapphiregal  I've purchased on Mercari without any problems but never sold on it. You might try Poshmark. I primarily sell on EBay and have for years, but I have also tried Poshmark and it seemed pretty user friendly from what I remember. If you sell there, you don't get paid until the buyer receives their package and deems it acceptable in which they have to go onto the website and "accept"the purchase. So if you are wanting your funds more quickly, EBay is better and I think you as a seller have more protection. IMO

try Poshmark, its easy to get started and shipping is simple

I didn't like Mercari because they want a CCard to start listing and not going there

No, never tried it, but, after your reply here, I took a look at it and decided to give it a try. It is very simple to create a listing. I've only put 6 items on, but, already getting comments and questions.

4 people have said that they are unable to clearly see some of the photos and have asked me to email pics directly to them and a couple of people have given me their phone numbers to send to their phone. On my end, my pictures are perfectly clear. That sends a red flag up for me.

Right, exactly. Like eBay, there are always a few out there who are scammers. I would not give my personal email address nor phone number. I think that that's a big no no on Poshmark. Sometimes it takes a while to sell an item, but the right person will come along. If they want to contact you, they need to put the items under "bundle". That's a way to just email them through the site. No need to give personal info at all. if the photos are clear, invisible, no worries then. I hope you have great luck on there.

@Sapphiregal   I've been very successful on Poshmark for a couple of years.  Don't send emails, pic or any type of communication off the site, they will ban you.

I think there are vultures looking for new sellers that try to get you to deal off their site.

Just google any questions, or you can reach out to me and others on QVC with any questions, we'll be able to help navigate you through until you are comfortable. I've sold nearly 900 items with about 600 left to sell.  The reason I'm selling is because my house was overly packed with shoes, handbags, clothes, and home decor item and I'm trying to downsize in order to retire and move in 2025.  So far so good -
