My Aunt who is 65, has been the person who introduced me to his music.

I think JB's "For A Dancer", is one of the most haunting and beautiful songs, I've ever heard!

DH and I used to enjoy him years ago, but haven't heard anything from him in quite some time.  Thanks for reminding me of him.  I'm listening to him now on last dot fm

Back in the day, I tried liking him, but I thought he was too ordinary.

Years later, I read about him beating up women, and that finished it for me.

Re: Any Jackson Browne Fans?

I always liked his music and remember playing one of his albums to death on my turntable!

About 5 years back, I had an opportunity to see him live at the Warner Theater in Washington, DC.  He was alone with just a long line of guitars to play.

Sadly, it was a very disappointing show in that each song sounded more depressing than the last.  People were leaving midconcert!

I was used to hearing his music with a band, and loved it.  But alone, he just had a rather monotone delivery and the lyrics were all so sad.

I'm 64, by the way and still love him, but only with all the other musicians playing behind him.

Two of my favorite songs -- Fountain of Sorrow and Shape of a Heart and, of course, The Pretender.

For a Dancer....played it at my friends funeral last month..." In the end there is one dance you'll do alone"..

I am a huge fan, seen him many times in concert, and around town....

I used to like one or two of his songs.  Never kept up with him though.
