I stopped over thinking this stuff quite a while ago.  I get it, when I get it.  This week, I had a package that was supposed to be delivered by UPS on 5/28.  Then when I visited UPS.com, I saw that there was a unsuccessful deliveyr attempt on 5/25. Weird because I was home all that day.   On 5/26, it said my package was taken to the UPS Access Point (a dry cleaner near me)  and would be available for pick up on 5/27.  Then, at 9:22 pm, on 5/27, my doorbell rang and it was not one but two UPS guys and they delivered that same package.  I didn't try to figure it out, I was just gratefiul that I didn't have go to the Access Point on Saturday morning and stand in line to get my package.

Thankfully, your pkg didn't come through my neck of the woods as an employee from my post office was just fined for dumping tons of undelivered mail in a ditch.

So when I tell vendors I DID mail their payment, I will advise them which ditch to go look for it!

My guess: when so many can't find workers and people to get things to you, they expect to tell you there will probably, more than likely, be a delay in your getting your goods.
