You take that risk any time you buy from the big box stores, Sam's, Costco, etc.

It was the 1960's there were no big box stores it was from the local A an P

If you see a very large trail of ants in your home, anywhere but especially the kitchen, you might think about calling a pest control company in your area. We had a very large number of them climbing up a wall between my refrigerator and stove last year - seemingly overnight. I tried using ant baits, etc but couldn't stop them. ...and I kept finding more and more of them. Finally called a pest control company - they sent a guy out and he found an entire colony of ants under my stove....made me sick! It took 2 trips for him to totally erradicate the colony but he did it. I had no idea that they ants could do that inside a home. .

Regarding putting cat/dog food bowls in a shallow pan or dish of water - an excellent idea and I know it will work. It's the same principal as using an ant moat attached to your hummingbird feeders to keep the ants out.They can't swim and have no way to get across the water and into the food bowls. The rolls were from Walmart.There is no telling where they were stored on their way to the thousands of stores they have. No surprise to me. Should have tajen your receipt and the rolls, ants and all, back for a refund!
