Considering there are thousands of flights everyday the odds of a crash are much lower than driving a car. You only hear when there is a crash so it seems often.

In the U.S. most of the pilots are former military. I would trust their judgment before trusting someone like John Travolta. In other countries pilots are probably former military too.

I've noticed that this last spate of fatal air crashes have been mostly Airbus planes. I'm not suggesting that there are manufacturing errors but I do wonder if the pilots have been trained properly, or if possibly the first wave of those models put into service are wearing out sooner than expected, etc.
In the interest of full disclosure, I live in Seattle which is the home of Boeing, Airbus's chief rival.

To speculate something criminal at this early stage is highly irresponsible, imo.
I'm not sure it's irresponsible, but it certainly is premature.

Aviate
Navigate
Communicate
That's what pilots are trained to do, in that order.
If it were bombed, which is just 100% pure speculation at this point, there would be large pieces. From the one photo that I saw, the plane looks like confetti.
Now, I don't know the first thing about aviation, but, if a plane has been reduced to thousands of little pieces, my thinking is, it went in to the ground vertically, nose first, at a high rate of speed.
IF that is true, and I have no idea that it is, the next question would be, what caused it to do that?
Was it something mechanical?
Time will tell.

I hope it was quick, and that no one suffered! They said there were infants/children and students on board..so upsetting!

Scary isn't it.
