If there was an AMERICAN company like Amazon, you'd know about it.  There is a huge Chinese company that's supposed to be similar if you want to risk doing business with them.  Why don't you try it and let us know how it goes?

Alibaba sounds like you would get a Genie with your subscription.  I will stick to the American company!

Re: Another option besides Amazon?

I find everything I need using Walmart, Target, Sam's, and Wayfair. I do not shop with Amazon.

Sometimes I find items less expensive on Walmart.com and with free shipping.

When we first had Amazon Prime we paid $79 a year, currently we pay $14.99 monthly or $179.88 a year. I would not subscribe, but dh wants it.

I have been Prime for as long as they have offered it. I see no reason to go back

I would not pay $180 to shop with Amazon especially since if you spend $35 you generally get free shipping anyway.  It's like going to a store and they stop you at the door and charge you to go in to shop.

The cost of Amazon Prime is well worth it.  No sky rocketing price imo.  Fast delivery, many times in one day instead of the 2 day.  Vast selection, great prices, Free shipping plus all the other perks.  I also use their CC when making purchases and get a percentage or points back. I forget which it is.  So very happy with Amazon Prime. Have had it for many years and see no reason to stop.

Re: Another option besides Amazon?

The only time I will subscribe to Prime is when they offer it to me free for a month.

Today they offered a week for $1.99 and I took it because the shipping would have been $6.99 for the one item I was ordering and wasn't going to spend just to make up the $35 to get free shipping.

Re: Another option besides Amazon?

What we pay for Amazon Prime is some of the best money we spend.  But that's just us.  ANYTHING we need, free shipping, quick delivery, and a good choice with the backing of a reputable seller.

No place is easier, for us, to make returns.  That's not even an issue to return something. We drop off at UPS, walk in, walk out, money in the account before we get to the car.

Yes, I realize it isn't that way for all, but that's my experience.  Just relating.
