Another moving to AZ.

We already live in AZ but our daughter has just decided she def wants to move here from Chicago. She thinks she wants to go back to school in Phoenix or Mesa. She wants to live in Scottsdale and while visiting at Christmas found an apt. that she likes but is now thinking she might find something a little less expensive since she will probably be a student. She is 30 and single. Any suggestions for an area or an actual apt. complex? I was thinking Paradise Valley might be good. I am planning on going and looking for her and she may fly out again but a lot of the apts. look good but I don't know if the area is mostly families, or safer or what.
