Lots of disgusting stuff goes on with those tableside condiments.

Yeah, and then when you see how some adults behave, is it any wonder about the children.

Re: Another example of very bad parenting

AndrewsGrandma, I was just waiting here for some one here to say what you just said. Absolutely correct you see people think all little kids are darlings got new for you ladies they are NOT. I helped at a dinner in fact quite a few dinners and you can't imagine how many kids put their hands in cookie trays take bites out and put the cookie back on the tray. They think nothing of grabbing things on the food table and the parents say nothing to them. Yes there are children when they are out they behave and are a pleasure to be around but there are also children who do not behave and the parents say nothing to correct them. It is quite uncomfortable for me when I have to go out and pick up things that kids have touched.

I was in the convenience store the other day. A dad was in line, and his 2 little girls were playing by the coffee. They were licking their hands and sticking them onto the sugar shaker, lick their hands and doing it again.

I'm never getting coffee there.

Ugh. I wouldn't either. As scotttie said earlier, lots of gross stuff happens with condiments. I never use them in restaurants, any public place.

Oh boy, this is my pet peeve ...... badly behaved children. {#emotions_dlg.angry}

I no longer keep quiet ........ when a child is screaming and you can hear them on the other side of the store, I now confront the mother and ask what is wrong with that child.

If kids are running in a store, I speak up and say: HEY ... be careful!

And if they are really bratty .... I speak up and say: HEY ... Where's your mother??

Yes, maybe others wouldn't do that, but most people I know go to stores to shop (which requires thinking in most cases) and NOT to endure badly behaved, noisy children who are allowed to run wild.

Sorry .... but I see no reason to tolerate that! {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

When I was a kid, complete strangers would put us in our place if we acted up, then my mom would thank them. She would also scold us sorely in front of God and everyone. Yes, it was humiliating, which was the point. We were shamed for humiliating our mom with our bad behavior in public.

Mine too ive been framed, and I did the same with my son. I think a little humility is good for the soul.

Yea, there was an update on the story of the unlicensed 16 year old who took the SUV full of children and ended up wrecking and killing two 12 years olds.......the case has to have a change of venue or an outside judge brought in because it seems all of the judges in our county know her grandparents.

My goodness, under 5? How much under, 4 yrs.?

We all know this isn't acceptable but why come here and keep posting this kind of topic? Just to pound on parents, children?

The parents said this was acceptable behavior? You don't know the child or parents, you see everything in the most unfavorable light. So eager to be negative.

OH please - tell me what favorable light to see this in.

You can find good and bad stories, you are drawn to the bad ones. If you look for anything long enough you will find it. What's it do for you?

Unfortunately, the bad are so bad that they become memorable. I haven't seen any positive threads about children posted by you. So, I'll do it.

Re: Another example of very bad parenting

My ex SIL had three boys that were always tearing into toys, candy, anything in stores. At McDonald's they would squirt ketchup packages all over the table, and she left it. My MIL told me the ketchup story. If I had been there I would have made them stop. Sometimes kids do as they see their parents do. They never have the chance to know any better, because no one teaches by example.
