@momtochloe I wouldn't do business with Wells Fargo if I was hungry.

What did I miss (or more likely forgotten LOL) as to why people don't want to do business with Wells Fargo?

Yeah, really. I bought some furniture, applied for the credit card for O interest with Wells Fargo. I have my savings and checking accounts with Wells Fargo as well as a few small CDs. I better yell at my husband since he's "in the business" and hasn't steered me away from Wells Fargo.

We purchased a 2016 Kia this year with 0% financing. . Why not take advantage of it?

Aren't they all money hungry?
I've never used Wells Fargo but as far as I know, they are all the same.

Stores are hoping people will forget and then the interest is charged! We bought furniture from Macy's on that plan. We also have a revolving account. Ever time my dh made a large payment, they always put it towards the revolving balance first, so the "furniture" balance would not get its full amount! For example, if we needed to pay $200 per month on furniture, and had a balance of $400 on revolving account, if my dh sent $450 to Macy's, we'd get a nasty call saying we were delinquent! On the bill it would say minimum balance due on Revolving account was $80 so my dh figured they'd take the $200 we owed on furniture and apply rest to revolving account! Reasonable, right? Nooooooo! When we called to complain, we were told the money always goes to revolving first! Sneaky! We got stuck for late fee, and nearly had to pay interest on the furniture account! Buyer be ware!

I've used Wells Fargo a few times and never had an issue. They were perfectly fine.
Yes DH and I often take advantage of no interest, X number of months same as cash. I generally take the amount of the purchase, divide it by the number of months with no interest and get a monthly payment to make so the item is paid off by the time my 0 interest expires.
The thing you have to be careful of when you do this is that if you don't pay off the item when the 0% interest offer expires, you don't only pay interest on the balance that is remaining when interest kicks in. You pay interest on the full purchase amount.
I am careful though as I don't want years worth of payments on an appliance, furniture, etc. A car I'd extend out but I'm not paying for furniture for 3+ years.

@Imadickens this is shameful and in my opinion predatory behavior on Macy's part. To be honest, I do not shop there for different reasons but this has convinced me to stay out of there permanently. ![]()

I have no problem taking advantage of 0% promotions when offered. But I know what I am getting into before I do so and I am very disciplined. We partially financed our HVAC system that way, through Wells Fargo Home Projects. We paid it off ahead of schedule and promptly cancelled the card. If there was going to be a penalty for early pay off we would not have done so.
Currently I have a portion of my car loan through Nissan for 0%. There was no additional incentive offered to pay the total in cash.
For 99% of my large purchases, I have enough in savings to pay the total in cash, but if I am offered 0% I won't hesitate using their money while still making a little interest on my savings.
