This was a case of parents who clearly were not observing their child's behavior. It also would have been a good life lesson that you don't reward a child with toys for bad behavior. Sad on so many levels...

I too saw this story on the news and just can't understand how he squeezed himself in there. The opening is not that big and the kid is not that small.

I just looked at the pic of the machine and it does have a large square opening to retrieve the toy. This opening is much larger than the ones I have seen. Maybe its a very old machine. The new ones have a smaller round opening with rubber around it.
