Another Skippy peanut butter recall

I searched the forums to see if some one had already posted this new recall, but the only one that came up is one from 2011, and it seems like both recalls are for the same reason, metal shards.

You'd think they would've fixed this 'metal shavings' issue by now!

You can see the kinds of Skippy affected and which states & stores they were shipped to below:

I'm so tired of thinking/wondering about exactly why some employees/production managers aren't paying attention to maintenance of machinery, tools, etc.  If I were a manager, I'd probably be looking over various moving parts with a magnifying glass.  Well, that's just me............and just very tired of thinking about similar incidents..........I must say, in a more positive thought,  that I'm glad that the problem was found and is being corrected.  One step in the right direction...........

I buy Jif to Go in the little single serving cups.  That way, there's no half-empty jar that nobody remembers.  Each cup is enough for 2 sandwiches (with cream cheese of course).  JMO

I love my peanut butter, but I get it ground fresh at the health food store. Processed and hydrogenated PB just don't cut the taste or "bad fat amounts" with me.

'Off Topic': 'All in all', 'In general', etc.:  We need more quality control supervisors in each manufacturing/processing facility.  After all, we are paying good amounts of money to the corporations.  Why not employ more quality control/conscientious folks to make sure that human food and also pet food are completely safe.  Right?
