My cell phone rang noting a Potential Scam so I didn't answer. They left a vm that said it was Spectrum calling to advise me they were ending the 40% discount and if I wanted to keep it I should give them a call. I remember getting a one time discount on my bill last month because of a power outage. I didn't call the number back but called the customer service number on my bill and when I told the rep of the call she told me they never call customers about a 40% discount it was a scammer calling me.
She commended me for not calling the number left on my cell phone and agreed it was a scam. So to all who read this post, beware ! I know others have noted these idiots who constantly attempt to take advantage. I just wanted to pass along my experience today. They just don't stop do they ? Why don't they find a honest way of living ? Makes me so angry !!

If my phone said potential spam, I would neither answer nor listen to a message. I don't look at my spam email folder either. We're all better off letting technology do its job.

Half of my spam email folder is NOT spam so I always glance at it. But I never answer a phone call that I don't recognize.

@Goodie2shoes - We're with Spectrum, so I appreciate your post. I never answer the phone, if I don't recognize the number and, if the caller doesn't leave a message, I just block the number for the future.
If a message said Spectrum was offering me a 40% discount, I'd go online into my account to check on things. ("If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!")
@Tori3569 - However, I do check my spam email folder every day because, for whatever reason, legitimate emails (from regular sources) sometimes end up there. I recently found two emails from a best friend with whom I email every day, in my spam folder!
I've also found emails from companies I have accounts with in the spam folder (just this week).
Technology isn't perfect and sometimes there's no rhyme or reason why something ends up in the spam folder. I always hover over the sender's address just to make sure.

I have received that same voice mail and I have no idea what Spectrum is! We do not have anything called Spectrum.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I really don't check my spam folder, but I use outlook and generally add companies I register with to the safe list. Maybe that's why I don't feel a need to look there.
If there have been emails there from anyone I know, I haven't heard about it or missed anything in many, many years.

For the past three days, I have received several calls daily from an 800 number that I don't answer.
They leave a message in Spanish for me to call back and press #2. The voice mail is sent to my email.
Weird. Though I am able to read a little Spanish, I am not fluent. Not by a long shot.
I am blocking the number. They are now bothering me.

Spectrum is a TV internet streaming service and they also provide wifi phone service etc. It used to be called charter network in my area.

Reminds me of...."if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't". Glad you called and checked on it.

Thank you! I have received several voice mails from them and since we had nothing called Spectrum here, it was an obvious scam.
I have my phone set so that only calls from my contact list will ring and others do not ring, but can leave a voice mail. I always listen to voice mails since I could receive a legitimate call that i need to hear.
