Another Mishap at Bonanza Creek Ranch

This is the site of the Alec Baldwin shooting.  Local Albuquerque news now reports a crew member who was working there relates that he was bitten by a brown recluse spider at the ranch.  His doctors say his arm may have to be amputated.  Do the disasters on this property never end?

@Kachina624  I read this on I think TMZ but not sure.  They had pics but I didn't look.

I was cleaning leaves out of our courtyard yesterday and killed a black widow...and almost got a snake in the vac of the blower vac as I was picking up the leaves.  Gotta be careful.  Spiders are everywhere especially dark hiding places..

I can't imagine being bitted by a brown recluse...how devastating for the crew member.

Sounds like bad decisions are gonna haunt them for a long time...DW

@dancingwoman   We have a lot of black widows here too.  I just give them a wide berth.

I expect that sooner rather than later a mini-series will be made about the making of Rust, rather than ever seeing Rust be made into a feature film.  Leave that area to the snakes and bugs and beasties that thrive there.

A Brown Recluse is much worse than a Black Widow. I remember when I lived in CA High Desert ( Ridgecrest) DH found one in our garage, killed it with bug spray, put it in a Zip lock bag, took it into work to ensure it was indeed a Brown Recluse (they are often misidentified -- ours was one).

Re: Another Mishap at Bonanza Creek Ranch

That's terrible.  I was bitten by a spider a couple years ago.  This was the worst thing ever.  It hurt so terribly and was the worst looking thing.  It kept getting worse and worse and I was on all kinds of antibiotics, etc.  I still have a large mark on my leg from it.  I just saw a glimpse of the spider and it got away.  At the time I was in no mood to chase the thing down and I am terrified of spiders to boot.  From what I saw and the pictures of it, it did look like a brown recluse.  The medical personnel said they had never seen such a terrible bite as the one I had and that if I hadn't come in when I did, I could possibly have lost part of my leg!
