This morning's fallen hero was a male sailor.

Updated 7/18/15

"A sailor who was shot in the Chattanooga, Tenn., gun rampage died Saturday, becoming the fifth fatal victim, his family said.

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith,

who was fighting for his life after a gunman opened fire at two military outposts in Tennessee on Thursday, passed away about 4 a.m.

The 24-year-old hero was from Paulding, Ohio."

It is a "he" and he is not an "officer" just a Chief Petty Officer, but not a commissioned officer (I use to work for the Navy)!  Very sad, his death makes 5 dead!

Re: Another Chatanooga Victim Dead

I'm just shocked, saddened, and SMH over this whole incident...There was an article in my local paper today that showed a Male in his 50s who had never "served" yet he was outside the Recruiting Office & protecting it (with his loaded gun/along with his permit to carry) from the mayhem (that could have ensued)....The local LE were called and they checked  him out, let him be, and there were no "incidents," thankfully !  The VFW members came to his rescue, too, and supported him. They also took over
"the watch" when he had left for the day, The Recruiting Office was closed for the weekend, and I hope there are no further incidents.
