What an admirable soul she was. I adored and admired her husband.
How enduring their love was. The first American to orbit the Earth met his future love when they were both in the playpen. As I recall, he was taken to visit baby Annie one day, and they were introduced to one another and then placed in her playpen.
May they rest in peace, united in the great beyond.

An amazing couple, so accomplished yet humble. Annie suffered with a stutter from childhood and used the public platform she was thrust into to champion others with speech disabilities. I can’t imagine the courage she had to work to overcome this and still stand before large crowds and give speeches. I like to think she and John are happily reunited.

This photo of the Glenns was taken at the Welcome Discovery ceremony at the Udvar-Hazy National Air & Space Museum in Chantilly, VA, on April 19, 2012. As I have written on the QVC Forum, I had the thrill of being in attendance (I would not have missed it for the world) and was overcome with excitement when the couple were driven to the podium area in a golf cart (I think that is what it was). I nearly blacked out from yelling, "JOHN GLENN! JOHN GLENN! JOHN GLENN!" I was in the presence of greatness.
