Ann Margaret is a gem.   She's still going strong in her 80's.   She recently released a new CD and still rides motorcycles.

When you see all these people like Kardasians and the nobodies who have no talent or anything of value to offer and have to be in the limlight 24/7, and then you see Ann who is a huge talent, beautiful, kind and is never seeking the limelight, never did even in her heyday.

I remember seeing her last in an episode of the TV show "Third Watch" where she played a judge.   She is a fine actress and was an amazing stage performer.

She is a lady and a true icon in entertainment.

Beautiful story.   She is beautiful inside and out.

I agree she always seemed so nice, and her and Elvis in his movies just seemed so  sexy together.

They truly loved each other.   If you get a chance, listen to her interview with PBS's Charlie Rose.   She really talks about Elvis and she gets so emotional.   Beautiful interview that few have seen.

Indeed, Ann Margret was the female Elvis.

She could go toe to toe with him in all ways.

Elvis loved her deeply until he died.

I loved the movie Queen Bees. She was good in it and the movie itself was really good.

Thank you so much for sharing this lovely memory with us @Toots711  Good for Ann Margret for ignoring those who didn't want her to do anything other than sign the books. Yes I understand it can get out of control and then run out of time but sometimes exceptions should and must be made as in this cae.

Back in the days of DISCO, one afternoon,  I just happened to be near the Golden Gate Theater in San Fran, she and ROGER SMITH were getting out of a limo going into the theater because her show was starting at 8Smiley Surprisedo pm that night, she stopped and chit-- chatted and gave me her autograph.  I told her that I had been to the show three nights in a row and she said that I must know her steps by heart. such a great, nice person.   BUT Bette Midler was just the opposite.   Just by chance, I also saw her all by herself walking on Geary Street and I guess she did not appreciate or wanted to be recognized.  She pantomined her unhappiness at me in a very unusual way...oh well.  What a dreary world it would be if we were all alike.

I'm so happy you shared that story. No one can fake being as kind as she was to your dear husband. God bless our vets and those performers who entertained them during that dark time when Vietnam divided our nation.

IMHO she has always been a class act.
