Small excerpt from CBS News:
"After more than a century behind bars, the beasts on boxes of animal crackers are roaming free.
Mondelez International, the parent company of Nabisco, has redesigned the packaging of its Barnum's Animals crackers after relenting to pressure from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals."

Of course, if those animals were together and free................

I'm surprised PETA didn't call for the removal of all animal crackers.

Funny how the whole Interweb is getting their knickers in a twist
about this. Must be a full moon.
It’s small for some.
It’s insignificant for some.
But it’s a packaging change reflecting current times for all.
Why not?

Wow I am an animal lover but I was never offended by cracker packaging....never even noticed actually.Put resources to work and stop animal cruelty in reality.I am offended by real life animals being caged and mistreated,used in product testing and in anyway harmed by humans.

@dex And stuck in zoos.

OT - Zoos are good. They help preserve what little is left of some animals that might perish if left to their own defenses in the wild.

Now they need to remove "Barnum" from the box.

@SilleeMee Disagree. Not all zoos are created equal, if you will.
I agree about preserves and dwindling species; but whether the animal would not do well in the wild or is becoming extinct does not justify locking up any animal.
There are bad zoos; wildlife preserves are better options.

I went about a year ago looking for them to give a box to my Granddaughter since I lived on the things and had a "new purse" to boot. I could only find them in cases of like a dozen or so in the cookie aisle. No individual boxes I have yet to locate. Still have not bought her any yet. Maybe now that they are free to roam they can do it one box at a time. Boy I loved that little purse growing up.
