@Pearlee You are correct! He broke up with his longtime partner over two years ago.

I am so happy for Anderson! He was just beaming last night when he announced he had a son. Uncle Sanjay was so happy for him. He had purchased a CNN mobile news van for little Wyatt. Wyatt was his father's name. He said Morgan was a family name. He also stated that when cleaning out his mother's apartment that he came upon a list of baby names. Morgan was on the list as a possible name for when Anderson was born. I know his dad, mother, and brother are looking down and smiling upon Anderson has he holds his precious son. Wyatt Morgan Cooper is a lovely name.

How do you know that?

@Somertime, there were reports yesterday that he and Benjamin had recently reconciled and are a couple again.
Anderson Cooper had reportedly gotten back with his longtime boyfriend Benjamin Maisani before he announced the birth of his son.
Cooper and Maisani are together again, and now, they’re a family of three after the CNN anchor revealed the birth his child via surrogate. Multiple sources revealed that the two reconciled before Cooper made the baby announcement.
“Anderson has reconciled with Ben,” a source told Us Weekly. “They very quietly got back together and are planning ahead. Ben is selling one of his clubs and cutting back on how much he does at night so he can spend more time at home with Anderson and the baby.”

@Janey2 I could write you a book about the issues the child will face, but I won't because I get jumped on and that does nobody any good. Remember the talk about the "sandwich generation?" Only it's most of your life.

Shoekitty said He isn't that old, but I totally agree some men like Mick Jagger and rod stewart and the likes are old for a newborn, imo. But I think we all know in their case the wife does the taking care of. And plenty of money for outside help.
anderson is 50, he will be 68 when son graduates. About 73 when he graduates from college. I am 72 and I could take care of a 21 year old if I had too. No babies no way. Uh uh. 72 is still young now a days if you have your health. My husband didn't retire until he was 71. When I was young women were having babies at 18. Now not as much. My granddaughter is 30, just getting married. They don't want kids for a few years...if that is the way it works out. Lol

He is so refined and humble, but when he talked about his child, he was beaming.
I think losing his mother hit him hard. They had a lovely~and loving relationship.
It is great to see him so happy again!

I saw his announcement on Facebook. It was very touching, especially when he joked up and almost cried. It was a lovely tribute to his mother, father and other family members. My cousin is named Wyatt, too.
