Just heading this off. If everyone who comes here to complain about this thread -- donates a meal to charity instead, we could all make a real difference and help our neighbors.

I agree @Porcelain  -- when I see posts complaining about not being able to find one specific product at a store, I think of the millions in the USA who have no money and are not able to buy any food (including pasta) because of they lost their salaries due to Covid.   Please support your local food charities.  Thank you.

Re: And so it begins ( again)

The only shortage noted in my local stores here in my part of Texas....is no specialty ice creams that the store brand does for Christmas.... No Peppermint Candy Cane or Mexican Chocolate ....  If this is our only shortage I can live with it....there's plenty of more essential items that Im happy about being in stock..

A few weeks ago the threads were popping up about shortages of soup with spikes in Co-Vid AND cold weather coming upon us....There's even been plenty of soup available....

There's plenty of linguini on Amazon if they deliver to you.

I'm not a big pasta fan but have always wondered why there are so many types when they all taste the same.  I gave up trying to keep up with them and now keep an ample supply of egg noodles on hand to use as "pasta".  They're much easier to eat.

@patbz.  Could you have used spaghetti?

This (bolded by me) is something that is odd.  What is even more odd, I don't like certain ones, like the really skinny long ones.   It all tastes the same!   But I tend toward rotini and a few similar types.  I buy Dreamfields brand pastas on Amazon, so I always have plenty.

I like noodles too!  I wish Dreamfields had noodles but for the very occasional use I can just buy a bag of whatever.   Smiley Happy

I think the only problem I see with people saying there are shortages where they live is some take that to mean impending doom, go out and buy all they can of whatever the person says they could not find, and then it turns a small issue into a huge one.

Thank you, @red&curly that is very sweet.

Thats true about "at least they won't take my life".

I'm sorry you have them anyway. I started taking a shot I give myself once a month called emgality. It has helped with the number of migraines I get. I'm not sure if it would help you or not, but it may be worth it to talk to a dr about it.

@tototwo  I did not take the OP to be complaining about not being able to find pasta.  I took her post to mean the shortages are starting up again.  She simply mentioned that pasta is becoming short in supply.

While we can all agree that many, many people are seriously hurting right now, and while we can all agree that donations are so severely needed.  I will submit this:

How many of you skip a meal or two in order to feed another person?  How many are giving their last few dollars to feed the hungry instead of buying food for themselves???

It is very easy to say we donate but I'm not seeing any sacrifices being made in order to do so.

So the real issue is not about fettucine but about the lack of supplies for everyone-including food banks for the most needy.  If store shelves are starting to become scarce again, then so are food banks.

Let's all do what we can and we have no idea what the OP does or does not do for others-and it really is not our business.

The OP is a good person.  As are others.  No one person is less than another because she mentioned fettucine.

Many things that are “diet” are in short supply now. They predicted it back in March. I find very little sugar-free pudding, jello, and other things labeled “ sugar-free”.
