So I did go to the movies today, to see "Chicago" .
I can count on one hand the number of people in the theater.
Two.
Just me and one other person, and yes, we were more than six feet apart from each other.
It was so nice to see a movie on the BIG screen, with stereo surround sound!
Not everybody has that kind of set up at home, and I have always enjoyed going to the movies. It has always been fun for me.
Of course I had to have my popcorn and drink.
That's where they're making their money.
A medium popcorn and large drink set me back $15.
You had to wear a mask when entering and leaving, and while at the concession stand, but once seated in the theater itself, you could remove your mask to eat and drink, just as you would if you were seated inside of a restaurant.
it was nice to get back to some sense of pseudo "normalcy" .
Now, notice just how I said that.
I did not say that things were back to normal, because of course, they aren't.
I said "some sense of pseudo 'normalcy '."
Now, do I expect everyone to run out to the movie theater?
No, I do not.
you have to do what's comfortable for you.
I was comfortable doing this, and if they show another movie that I like, I will probably go again.
have a good 4th, everyone!

I also love to go to movies but haven't gone since before the pandemic. However, it sounded safe for you and if you are comfortable, so be it.
I would have some concerns as to the seats being sanitized and a few other things.
Chicago is a great movie, the music, dancing, story line. I am glad you enjoyed!

I'm glad that you got out and enjoyed yourself. Chicago is such a fun movie. I love when Renee plays the marionette and Richard Gere the puppeteer. I've seen the movie several times and always laugh at that scene.
It's true, there is nothing like watching a good movie in a theater Especially the popcorn part.

Nice you were able to go out safely and enjoy yourself. Saw Chicago on Broadway. It was great.

I love in northern California, along the coast, about 100 miles south of the Oregon border.
@Anonymous032819, that is wonderful. Perhaps TMI but wonderful just the same. Now, where do you LIVE?

It is nice you enjoyed the movies.
I am a fan of Chicago with Rene'e, Catherine-Zeta Jones, Richard Gere, Queen Latifah, and Taye Diggs.
This is Catherine's best performance. Her dancing was amazing.
I noticed this will play July 6 on Showtime East.
Please check the listings. I see where this movie will move to HBO Max.

Call me weird, but I enjoyed the movie with renee and catherine more than the broadway show. I have seen the musical on stage 3 times. Although the theater productions were excellent, for some reason to me they didnt have the pizzazz, and action of the movie.
there is an old black and white that is the un- musical movie. There is a 1927 version, and one made after that I am not sureif it was call Chicago as well. It is a really good version .
