Why Things Happen As They Do
Why things happen as they do
We do not always know,
And we cannot always fathom,
Why our spirits sink so low...
We flounder in our dark distress,
We are wavering and unstable,
But when we're most inadequate
The Lord God is always able....
For though we are incapable,
God is powerful and great,
And there's no darkness of the mind
That God can't penetrate....
And all that is required of us
Whenever things go wrong
Is to trust in God implicitly
With a faith that's deep and strong.
And while He may not instantly
Unravel all the strands
Of the tangled thoughts that trouble us
He completely understands....
And in His time, if we have faith
He will gradually restore
The brightness to our spirit
That we've been longing for....
So remember, there's no cloud too dark
For God's light to penetrate
If we keep on believing
And have faith enough to wait!

{#emotions_dlg.thumbup} Nice one! I find that the more I turn to God in thanks daily, the less apprehensive I feel when turning to Him in times of trouble. It becomes more comfortable as the personal relationship grows. Waiting in Christ can be difficult, but that is a fundamental building block of faith. What would we learn, or value long term, if everything always came to us immediately upon request? He is our Father in Heaven - not a sugar daddy in the sky! We have to develop an abiding trust in His love ... that He always has our soul's best interest at heart, along with everyone else's.

At the risk of wasting bandwidth with a dub, as I just posted elsewhere ...

The answers to prayer WILL come. Mature children of God learn to accept his "no" as love, as readily as His "yes". Everything and everyone belongs to Him. We share in them as wonderful, and sometimes terrible, tools for growth. He is in control - we can't possibly understand His ways, but we don't have to if we truly love Him. Trust in His unending love for you, no matter the hardships you're working to overcome through His instructions. The Word has to take firm root in your heart before you can begin to know Him. You'll develop new sight - begin to see things in a whole new Light. It won't all be sweetness and rainbows revealed to you ... though they may be disguised as such. You will see those dark things for what they are and better guard your soul against them. The "bad things" will increase and intensify as time travels on ... We can't hide from them, or succumb and allow them to destroy our faith in what Jesus Christ has accomplished for us. Resolve to carry on.

Carlotta - I saw your post and answered it, saying that I just posted and went away and when I got back it was gone! Now the second one is gone too! I tried. It makes me feel slapped in the face cuz I did nothing wrong.

Why does the post go poof when it isn't against the guidelines of the Standards? Or disrespectful in any way? Such as the Kennedy Memorial thread to which I was posting a nice burning torch graphic and away the whole thing went. I thought I broke something! {#emotions_dlg.scared}

This is a very nice message, OP - TY! And I love Selah's strong and uplifting post, too. That's my big sister! (My hero, too!)

Thanks for the inspiration this morning, gloriajean. The Bible is a very controversial book. I think we need to remember that. Only "a book" so powerful could move people like it does. Whether you believe it or not it will do something to you.... I can't think of another book that does that to people like the Bible does. It is different and it is powerful. That scares a lot of people... but then, so did Jesus. You're in good company if you ask me!

jubilant - thanks for your post! That is so true about the Bible! A book so different from any other in the world because it's inspired by the Holy Spirit! Yesterday I tried to post an uplifting message on Viewpoints, and wow! Did I get bashed! It disappeared, but someone put a shout out to me thanking me for trying, and that one got bad. It's on page 2 on Viewpoints - no more comments are allowed.

Please come to the positive thread again, you are missed.
