The 18K gold toilet was on display at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. Visitors to the exhibition had been allowed to use the toilet. The palace is an 18th Century World Heritage Site and was the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. The toilet has not been recovered yet but there has been an arrest of a 66 year old man. It’s believe that a gang broke into the palace and two vehicles were involved in the theft.
I should add that the toilet is not owned by the estate. It is there as part of an art exhibition and is a piece of artwork.

Wonder if the thief's first name is John?

I'm secretly glad. What a waste of money!

18K gold or not...that's one item I would have left behind. Who would want a toilet that was used ...perhaps the thieves will melt it down to sell because I am sure no one will buy it.

Such excess should be embarrassing ..... but, of course, it isn't.

I think I should note that the toilet is viewed as a piece of art. It was not made for use by the owners of the estate. It’s on exhibition there.
