Re: Amazon raises free shipping to $35

Prime for students is 49.00.  I've never understood why Amazon doesn't offer seniors the same benefit,  I dropped my Prime too.  You can club yourself into the poor house,

We have been Prime members from the very beginning.  I get packages from Amazon almost every day.  We get so much from vitamins & health/beauty items to large items and all sots of odds & ends.

Prime has been well worth it to us!

Current Amazon Prime membership pricing:

  • $14.99 per month
  • $139 per year
  • Prime Video membership is $8.99 per month

Current Amazon Prime Student membership pricing:

  • $7.49 per month
  • $69 per year

EBT, Medicaid, NAP, and other select government assistance recipients can qualify for Prime Access, which offers a discount on the monthly Prime membership.

Visit amazon.com/primeaccess and verify your eligibility to pay $6.99 per month.

Your Prime Membership may be subject to sales tax in some states. To know more about taxes, go to Tax on Amazon Prime.

To cancel your Amazon Prime membership, go to Manage Prime Membership.

Note:
  • If your Prime membership is through a service from another company, contact that company about membership rate and management.

I'm not surprised. Prices are increasing everywhere. I thought Prime Video would be included with Prime Membership, didn't realize it was extra.

I order from Amazon, but not enough to get my money's worth for Prime membership. It would be worthwhile if I ordered more frequently.

@teganslaw

Same here. We occasionally shop from Amazon but not enough to justify a membership fee. We shop Amazon for things we can't find in our local stores.

Re: Amazon raises free shipping to $35

@kaydee50 Thank you for posting this.

I am over paying the $139 a year for Amazon Prime.

I do watch a few things on AP but I don't think I would miss that.

It was cool when it was $99 a year & I got things in 2 days. I rarely got things in 1 day where I live.

Now I rarely get things in less than 5-7 days. It's fine but if I can get the same service without paying $139 a year, I would be up for that.

$35 is pretty easy to get to.

@teganslaw Prime Video is included.

I think that is if you just want to buy PV instead of Amazon Prime service. Which makes no sense. $107.88 for just video or $139 for the service.

@teganslaw @It's included in the price of my annual membership.

Re: Amazon raises free shipping to $35

I think it may vary over time and by region, like Amazon pricing does generally.  It was $35 when I ordered a month or two ago.

I just keep a list of wants and place an order when I'm over the free-shipping threshold.
