I think maybe the OP might have purchased an item that was not Amazon fulfilled........there is a difference.......... that company may have a restocking charge which is something that a lot of companies do.................................raven

I've mentioned in numerous posts in this thread it was an Amazon Prime purchase -by Amazon itself! Not one of the independent sellers associated with Amazon Prime!!

One issue with a contact person and think their service stinks? Get real. Amazon continues to have the best customer service. You try and play games with their service, and you think they are sleazy. It takes all kinds.

I didn't call Amazon sleazy- I called their policy on 'free return shipping' for footwear sleazy since they were charging a restocking fee instead.

{#emotions_dlg.confused1} Playing games with their service??? Where the heck did that come from?

What exactly do you mean by your phrase, "the boots didn't work for me". If you meant that you wore them and you returned after that for any reason, they are being more than fair to refund you minus a restocking fee. If you just tried them on and put back in the box immediately and retuned them, then I am very disappointed that a restocking fee was charged by Amazon, and I certainly wouldn't purchase shoes from them again.

The boots didn't fit, I'm 'blessed' with athletic calves! I previously mentioned that the boots were put back into the box after I tried them on.

I've already decided not to purchase footwear from them again. I can't seem to get an answer from Amazon what their restocking fee guidelines are- so, better safe than sorry.

UPDATE... I figured what the restocking fee attempt was all about! Just a brief summary- I had an issue with an Amazon Prime return (purchase was through Amazon, not an independent seller). They have a 30 day return time frame and they told me it was okay to extend that for a holiday return (which would have been 60 days from the purchase date). I wanted them to update my order status with the new 'return by' date but they said it wasn't necessary. Wrong- that's where the restocking fee came from, it was received after the 'return by' date on my order status!
